hdin merc problems

[:1]ok so my level 91 hammerdin is finally done with his equipment. he can easily go threw anything, even wave 2 of baals minions.

my issue is with my merc. his equipment is as follows

andys visage (8% ll, and 28 str)

eth fort ( 25 res all)

eth insight (15 med)

res in hell are (50,75,80,85)

his issue is living threw trav runs and wave 3 of baal. the hydra's are a killer for him.

any equipment ideas, or tactics i can use to keep him alive, short of a new fort lol.|||is the andy socketed and filled with something? if not put a hole in it and either ral it or put a 15/30 jool ias/fr in it. i assume the insight is in an eth elite weapon

other neat options:

peace runeword has critical strike and ctc slow missiles - very handy against hydras

treachery with its ctc fade for ~65 res iirc and the 45 ias lets ur merc leech faster|||it's got a hole in it at the moment, i'll prolly throw a ral into it. unless i think i can afford that jewel lol. thanks for the help

Even if C-Armor isn't triggered you shouldn't have too much problem...

right now, i don't feel like making another character just to run the council. i added them into my mf runs simply to take up time, the added chance for a nice drop ( got a perf maras off them), and the chance for a vex+ rune drop.

making another character to simply farm them simply isn't worth the time imo, since i'm not one to gamble, although i'm starting to think there is a big profit in doing it.

right now i tend to just tele away when he's about to die and pop a health pot in him, then tele back. seems to work as long as i don't keep him in the hydras too long.|||Get a Ral in that andy's and you shouldn't have any more problems with the council or W3.|||my necro runs trav easily at 85

his merc never dies, hes got gaze, tomb reaver [amn, 1 sock], and guardian angel

that gear should be great on your merc as his dmg should be boosted by conc, mine gets might and amp

issue is that hydras have to pick their targets, i got 11 skellies and a golem to take hits, or me

I would suggest a different kind of approach to your problem and that is to increase your hammerdin damage and having enigma. My merc is wearing around the same item as your except the fort (mine is wearing theachry) and he is still surviving p7 council run and baal third wave. I think the key things is enigma. You need to tele straight at the centre of the councils and spam hammer. If your hammer damage is high enough, it should kill fast and after you killed, tele to safety (for your merc). Give reju pot for your merc (even better than super healing potion) because it heal instantly. Hope my solution helps.|||Quote:

thanks for the input. i have nigma, and my hammers do 13k damage, but for some reason my merc cant take the hydras, and seems to die before i can kill the baddies.

the real funny thing is i reset him to be a zealot ( currently doing 10+ uber runs a week) and he doesn't die vs uber meph. whats even funnier is that i don't need to use a pot on him threw uber trist period.

the only way i've found to keep him alive is to throw a ral into the andy's and tele away to pot him when he hits yellow. that is when i stat reset by pally back into a hdin
