[:1]I've been amassing keys and now I think I'm about ready to run Organs.
The thing is, I don't have a smiter yet, so I was thinking of using my Hdin with some gear change.
My Hdin is currently level 84 with the following gear:
Shako
Hoto
DS Enigma
Spirit in an Aerin shield with 37 base resist
CtA on switch
Trang Gloves
Arach
Treks
Seraph's Hymn
Rings: any combination of 10FCR resist all ring/Ravenfrost/Nature's Peace
My plan is to teleport to the Organ boss, maybe kill off some minions (other than the magic immune venom lords), TP, then switch gears to the following:
Guillaums
Grief PB
Shield: I'm planning to make a Sanctuary on an elite Pally shield with decent (30+) resists
CoH
Dracs
Belt: Dungos, but I can probably afford any other belt if there's better
Gores
Ammy: keep the Seraph's or use Highlords?
Rings: same as my Hdin
Now I have some questions:
Again, nothing close to "perfect," but would this makeshift smiter be able to do Organ bosses with relatively little trouble?
What aura should I have on my smiter when doing the Organ bosses? I have one point in Salvation, which brings it up to level 5-8 with Battle Command and choice of amulet. I can also spare a point on Fanaticism, which would be about level 5.
Which amulet is better? Seraph's Hymn or Highlords?
Any other gear suggestions? If it's a relatively affordable alternative, I can go for it, but suggestions like "get maras, Ptorch, Pcome GCs" are probably lost upon my poverty. Over all, I'd say I can afford maybe 10-ish Ists worth of gear.
Now these questions are not about doing Uber Trist. I plan to make a real 1pt smiter after I've amassed some Organ sets.
Sorry to barrage you with questions, but I'd appreciate your input. Last time I did Ubers, I was very wealthy and had more or less the optimal gear, but that was so easy and overpowered that I figured I could give it a shot at this point.|||Yes anything with Grief and Dracs can take on Ubers and mini Ubers :P
Fanaticism always with mini Ubers; Salvation is only used with Mephisto, although I still hate that aura and switches to Fanaticism after Life Tap is cast. However... wasting a point on it for a temporary smiter is not worth it. You could very well do it with no aura, so even Concentration would work.
If you do not use Fanaticism, and you can get max Smite speed with Highlord's Wrath, use that. If it does not raise Smite's speed, use Seraph's Hymn. Better chance to cast Life Tap is more important than damage.
For gear suggestions... I would rather a Fortitude than Chains of Honor. Everything else seems fine, and if you can also get an Exile then that would definitely be the best.
I might have missed something but that's all I see at the moment. A one point Smiter/Hammerdin... I don't see how that could be much different than a one point Zmiter or Smealer, other than more points in Holy Shield and Defiance maybe, which would not make all that much difference. lol|||honestly, it could work. you might wanna have more rejuv's on you just in case.
as for gear i would say keep your CoH, high res are nice. if you can manage it you should pick up a low mara's and a low cta to help you out|||I tried doing this and the only problem was Lilith. But I still managed to down her.|||it will be fine. Choosing between fanat and conc is just a matter of whether fanat lets you hit a faster smite breakpoint or not (it probably does, even at only level 5 it is 25% attack speed - check here to be sure)
The mini-ubers are not a serious problem, you may even find yourself able to kill them with hammers - I've done them with a sorc before without too much issue.|||As long as Life Tap is up and you are landing hits and don't have IM on you you'll be fine. Just make sure you clear furnace with hammers.
CB + Life Tap = Ubers Face Roll
Should be fine in Uber Tris too. Was running a budget smiter (ie Black Smoke Runewords and a 4 soc pally shield w/ 4 Pdiamonds). Easy as crap, was actually disappointed.
