Development Weapons for Zeal

[:1]What are some good development weapons for a character using zeal at various levels in the game? I don't plan on being a zealer during the end-game, but I can't see a more efficient leveling option than Zeal.

I guess I'd like 3 weapons recommendations - perhaps 1 for most of normal, 1 for the last bit of normal and transitioning into nightmare, and then another for finishing off nightmare and into hell. Once I get to use Grief, I won't need to consider anything else.

Thanks for the advice!|||I like these 3 easy to find/make/trade!

Bloodrise *Normal*

Black *NM/Hell: Beat U.Diablo with it*

Fleshrender *NM/Hell Beat PE.Mini3&Big3 with it*|||Those are some great suggestions! Thanks! I will try to acquire those immediately.|||how annoying is the knockback from black during normal play?|||Here are some of my favorite weapons for twinking:

Civerb's Cudgel (Level 9, damage scales with your level, can get you to NM)

General's Tan-do-li-ga (Level 21, mediocre damage is offset by awesome mechanics, can get you to NM Meph if upped)

Headstriker (Level 39, damage scales with your level, can get you into Hell)

Treachery Armor (not a weapon, but the 305-325 poison damage is very significant in Normal and Nightmare and it's still useful until you get endgame gear)

As to your situation, I've always found Hammerdins to be easier to level; just use Lvl 1 Might + Level 1 Smite/Charge/Normal attack to get to 18, then Hammer away thereafter (stuff Tir runes into all your gear until your mana stabilizes). If that's too long to wait for a useful attack, you can use a Holy Fire/Zeal build to get through Norm, then respec once you have some +skills and FCR gear later.|||I used the following when starting out:

Cathan Helm/Ring

Angelic Armor/Ammy, Ring

Hsarus Shield/Boot

Death Belt/Gloves/Hel'd Sword (and yes, hel'ing death's touch is totally worth it if you plan on using it ever time you level a character).

Lots of awesome elemental damage to that setup, which carries you through most of norm. You may want to use Civerb's Cudgel for those last few levels before 30 - it's max damage per level will have made up the gap between it and Angelic by then.

30 to 39, Bloodletter is king. It will provide a very solid weapon until you can reach the right level to use....

...Headstriker, which with its max damage and deadly strike per level, is just badass to use all the way up until you can use Grief. Even at 59, with maxed Fanat and 10 ias from Bloodfist, Headstriker was fantastic.

I've used a wide range, and those are the best options i've found for leveling any melee char, but esp a zealot, since fanat bolsters Headstriker's biggest weakness - its speed.|||Vouch for Civerb's scepter :O

Coldsteel Eye is also great for the 30s. I've always used Butcher's Pupil instead of Headstriker, but it looks like the latter's DS makes it the better choice.|||Quote:

Totally agree with you on the Death set. Its just awsome.........

Aldurs Rhythm is one of the most flexible choices of all. ML, LL, IAS, light dam and 3 awsome sockets.... Put 3 amn in them and you will be impossible to kill in through NM. Or just put ed jewels Iths or Sols in them for increased dam..... This is how i get most of my mele characters to Hell...

Regards Beltt|||aldur's rythm is great, black on switch for bosses (knockback is annoying on trash).

Also not a weapon, but tiamat's rebuke at level 38 for the elemental damage ownage.
