Would a hammerdin without max block be bad?

I don't know anything about high end gear or what to shoot for with dex so i always make VIT charaters just enough str and dex for items, and all the rest i put in VIT, all hammerdin guides say to max block, is that a must?|||as hammerdin u stay in the middle of crowds and cast hammers while they attack u. it makes life easier but is no must. i played with and without...u�ll have a lot of unused skill points in the end, so why nut dump them in holy shield for better blocking and defense?

holy shield makes even a spirit achieve max block easily

with respecs u can try out both btw|||the reason 99% of pallies max block is because holy shield adds a ton of free block % to your shield and pallies have naturally high block, and also pallies have extremely fast block rate with holy shield...

It just takes less dext and it's better with pallys than with other classes so its silly not to maxblock on a pally...

for example, a level 90 barbarian with stormshield needs 203 dext for max (75%) block and blocks at 5 frames (.20 seconds)

a level 90 paladin with HOZ and level 30 holy shield requires 129 dext for max (75%) block, and blocks at 2 frames (.08 seconds).|||yeah but i have to put stuff in dex, what kinda dex number should i put into if i plan to get high end gear some day?|||when you do get hold of your high end gear, just restat with token. it's like only worth a hr i think.

there's no magic number to tell you right now how much dex you should have. it all depends on your gear.|||Quote:

or to save yourself the math, just pump dex until your char screen shows 75%. done!|||Quote:

+1 for this |||No I tested it with max vita and it worked great. I prefer 45 all resist pally spirit with 35 fcr over hoz. Here is how I get fcr:

40 hoto

20 trangs

20 arach

35 spirit pally shield

10 fcr ring or ammy

But I prefer fcr ring over ammy because of the sacrafice of resist when using fcr ammy.|||Quote:

Pallys get such easy max block with Holy Shield is it honestly stupid to go without it. With a ST spirit at level 93 its like 161ish dex to get max block, well worth the investment. Yeah you can get a few hundred more life points without going for max block.. but that does not mean anything.
