Best Merc Helm For Hammerdin?

I'm having a hard time killing Lilith....what is the best helm for a merc....Eth 20% DR Gaze with a Ber or 576+ def Dream?|||dunno about ubers but andy/guillaume is generally the most optimal depending on whether weapon has leech|||Why Dream? My reaper's/treachery/g-face merc does fine in uberland, but he doesn't survive more than a couple of seconds against Lillith. My advice would be to get a wand with lifetap charges and/or forget about your merc.|||Quote:

While clearing area that Dream works nice. But when Lilith is alone then that helmet is useless.

It's pretty much suicide mission for A2 merc, usually one hit and kill.

Give couple antidotes to merc before Lilith it helps a bit.

Against Lilith, eth Blackhorn's Face, eth Duress (more open wounds never hurts)



Other merc works better, if you can clear area without problems.

Rogue with Blackhorn's Face, Duress and upped Riphook.

(slows target 50%, 63% open wounds)|||I was wondering about dream because its what i used on all the other ladder seasons..in a bugged helm id almost get 600 defense...im using a non eth vamp gaze now with only 15%dr on it. like you guys say he gets killed fairly quick. oh and hubb, im casting lifetap thru my marrowwalks...helps a little but not enough. thats why i was wondering if the eth vamp gaze with ber would help with the 28% dr...it sux knowing that i can do 15k damage and not even hurt her, i have to get my 9 yr old daughter to bring in her lite sorc to help me lol |||Quote:

With pala (1-point smite) you might have some surviving problems, but if you do open wounds etc... killing Lilith is easy task.

Which item gives you open wounds (as you don't use gore boots)?

I don't have any crushing blow or open wounds on my setup, guess I'll have to re equip to kill her...|||Heh. How were you trying to kill them? Because the ubers have such high hp and hit so hard you need a way to take away a percentage of their life (crushing blow) and stop their hp regen (open wounds) while staying alive, obviously. Smite is ideal since it always hits, is uninterruptible, hits for up to 4 attacks per second and works with life tap.

I wasn't planning on killing the ubers, not alone anyway...trading organ sets is a good way to make money...thanks for the guide tho after reading that i think ima make a new char...i always let my friend be the zealot but hes not playing right now..
