Oath vs Crescent Moon

which is better for a paladin using holy shock aura? I need it works in hell game...|||Using Holy Shock the -light resistances from Crescent Moon would more than likely be better and being made in a PB it would have nice speed without using Fanat|||Crescent Moon

BUT its not for the usual Fanat/Zealer. So ED is not the most important thing when you will not have Fanat/etc to gain that ED% nor the IAS from.

To start the CMoon is better due to the -light res, ITD, etc.|||Assuming this is Holy Shock + Zeal, the "best" choice depends on who you are fighting:

If you are in Uber Tristram, then the Oath would make the better choice simply because the increase in physical damage, despite the build focusing on elemental, will increase your life leech. Using a Crescent Moon will probably leave this lacking. Also, the Ignores Target's Defense won't work on bosses, and the Static Field, while nice, would not be much better than just throwing on Gores for the Crushing Blow.

If, however, you are doing some standard Hell PvM, OR PvP, Crescent Moon is the way to go! The huge -lightning resist is invalueable in PvP especially (hence why cold sorcs are so deadly) and the Static Castings are second-to-none when it comes to mobs in PvP. Gores for Crushing Blow on a high-speed Zeal will make the packs melt away.

If, for whatever reason of course, you are refering to an Avenger paladin, then you simply need the biggest damaging weapon to be enhanced by Vengeance's peculiar elemental ED%.|||Finally I made a crescent moon pb! wooh! I just wonder if I still need Grief if I've got crescent moon already?|||It is awesome for some parts of hell but you might have probs with light immunes with the crescent moon pb. If you can get your hands on grief, maxing zeal and/or sacrifice along with holy shock and its synergies will probably give you the best damage. Also, you'll have tons more leech and a good balance of light/phys damage.

You could also keep the crescent moon and then max holy freeze and a synergy as a backup attack. People do this more often when they're untwinked, but if you're looking for something that differs more from the usual boring old zealot you can also try it.|||I just build a holy forzen dual dream pal with crescent moon and a merc use infinity. Everything just fall down quickly at HELL act 1.
