Help with Auradin gear.

Ok, seeing people talk about auradins got me curious. I decided to make an auradin but some of the gear selections and guides didn't make much sense. Well not for MAX damage.

This is what I have:

22FHR/54Res(44Res Base) Royal Shield (Has highest Block @ 55% for any shield)

No weapon (Switch) //plan on getting CTA though. 6bo more likely.

No Merc yet. No idea what merc or gear I should use.

This set up yields 15k zeal damage, all being lightning damage. I guess I could replace the PB with a SC and socket it with 6 5/5 light facets and hit 17k zeal. AR and Def is low, but toon has Max Block @ lvl 80. 1707 Life with out BO.

Other than getting better items of the same type are there items I should replace for better or more suitable items? I know getting a 20/20 anni or Ptorch would help

Resistances in Hell Difficulty are:

60 Light

60 Fire

60 Cold

75 Poison

Did all the scroll quests.

Didn't do life quests. (should do that to add 60hp)

Any help would be great. Even a link to a good guide would be great. One that includes the use of facets possibly.

Weapon - Azurewrath (with 15%IAS + 19%ED jewel)

Armor - Enigma Archon Plate

Shield - Dream Sacred Targe

Helm - Dream Bone Visage

Gloves - Dracul's Grasp

Belt - Nosferatu's Coil

Boots - Gore Riders

Ring 1 - Bul Kathos

Ring 2 - Ravenfrost

Amulet - Highlord's Wrath

Weapon switch - Wizardspike (for Teleporting and 75% FCR breakpoint)

Shield switch - Spirit (for Teleporting and 75% FCR breakpoint)

Inventory:

Paladin Torch

Annihilus

6x 5 resist all small charms

Skills:

Conviction - 25 after +skills (No need to overstack resists - 26+ is wasted)

Salvation - 20 (synergy for Dreams)

Resist Lightning - 20 (synergy for Dreams)

Holy Shield - 16 after +skills (Good enough defense - diminishing returns)

Zeal - 20 (Adds damage and AR)

Sacrifice - 3 (Adds damage - all future points will go here)

Merc is a Defiance merc (allows less points invested in Holy Shield) who wields Insight (to power Teleport mana).

This is not quite a cookie cutter build and many people look at it and assume I could vastly improve it. However I built this these fundamental parameters in mind:

Must have 75%+ FCR Teleport.

Must be able to kill every creature in the game without a gear change.

Must have Lifetap.

Must have a 4 frame Zeal.

Must not rely on merc for survivability or damage output.

Only problem is, if I take off the 6soc 40IAS/+20/-20 PB and the 4soc 89life/+20/-20 Dusk my damage is cut down by more than half. From 15k down to 7.1k. Enigma offers no benefit to an auradin in terms of maxing damage output. I'll try the Azurewrath, though by the looks of it, it won't add more damage then the pb I have equipped as the +20/-20 Light dmg/res adds ~4000 damage. But off to test.|||Enigma? Vigor/Charge

Dropping a 5/5 for an IAS jewel loses you 15% of your damage. If you put on Highlord's for 4 FPA Zeal you'll gain 20% again. So not really worth it. Plus with this change you'll be doing less vs broken LIs, which is really where you should be focusing.

Something to consider is maybe a Grief/HoZ swap for unbreakable LIs.|||Your goals are probably different from mine so don't assume my gear is good for your build. I listed my build with my goals and skills so you could understand why I was wearing certain stuff. You didn't list your overall goals or skills. Obviously if you don't want Teleport then Enigma would be a waste.

Maxing zeal lightning damage. PI's are no problem lightning takes care of them fast(I assume you meant LI unbreakables). Haven't come across any LI and PI but LI aren't a problem either(But haven't come across any LI unbreakable either.

Focus is PVP and PVM. PVP just running around and letting aura take them down(ha) not using zeal/charge. PVM using zeal, and charge for travel.|||can I just mention that this seems to be the dreamzealer build, which is one of the auradins. There are a few other ones (freeze, pure auradin etc).

The pure auradin (holy fire AND holy shock with conviction as main aura) is far cooler in general and is unlikely to run into unbreakable immunes.|||I did rather like the full auradin although the damage was only peeking at 9.5k. Using Dragon and HOJ only seemed to add ~1-2k damage and seemed like a waste. It did kill quick but no where near as fast as straight light with 40/40 in facets.|||Quote:

Alright I can't help you with PvP as I'm PvM only. If you're looking for max lightning damage it looks like you're already pretty close. Once thing I noticed is that it appears you're missing the 4 frame Zeal breakpoint. I see 2 Shaels (40) in a phase blade which leaves you 32 IAS short, meaning you attack at 9/5/5/5/5 or 259 times per minute. You should be hitting 8/4/4/4/4 or 313 times per minute, which is about 21% more damage output. To get there you could simply go with a Faith merc and let them provide your IAS needs. Or, you could go with:

Dumping Mara's for this only loses some resistance and 1 skill point. The skill point won't add to your dual Dream damage, so no big loss. The resistances will need to be made up (probably in inventory) but you get not only IAS, but also some added lightning damage and Deadly Strike.

Dump your Verdungo's for a Nosferatu's Coil and you've just hit the fastest Zeal breakpoint a Paladin can have. The NF has as much or more life leech than your BK, so unless you need it for the life dump it and go with a Stone Of Jordan to add another minute amount of lightning damage.

This would let you get an Act II merc. If you have low AR then a Blessed Aim will let you hit more putting out more overall damage per minute, but it won't boost your actual per hit damage. Defiance of course would allow you to get ridiculous defense. Might on the other hand would increase your damage per attack, but with your low damage weapon the damage increase would be very minimal. I'd suggest you go with the Blessed Aim merc.

As for merc gear, whatever helps him survive. This usually means Andy's, Fortitude, and a big stick of your preference. Doom's and Death's elemental damage mesh well with your Conviction aura. Your Drac's Lifetap should help keep him alive as well.

Another weapon you should look at is Crescent Moon. It would be impossible to hit the 72 IAS breakpoint without a Faith merc, but the lightning based procs (Static Field + Chain Lightning) will absolutely increase your overall damage output. It's hard to calculate exactly how much though, so you'll have to try it out to see which works best for you. Combined with your Conviction this might even be a viable merc weapon. Luckily it's one of the cheapest runewords so you aren't out much if you experiment with it.
